Holidays at the Bethlehem Blacksmith Shop
This year, we’re giving Bethlehem’s Smithy a festive glow-up. Throughout the holiday season, the Blacksmith Shop will feel warmer, brighter, and more inviting than ever – an easy, joyful stop just off Main Street for families, shoppers, and visitors soaking in the season.
We’re transforming the Smithy with soft, warm lighting – solar uplights on the exterior to showcase the stone walls and historic character, and gentle “flame-flicker” lighting inside to replicate the blacksmith forge into the evening.
Seasonal signage will help guide visitors in, and the area around the Smithy will be dressed for the holidays with lighted swags, greens, illuminated trees, and a charming vintage carriage photo backdrop that’s perfect for families and couples. A canvas tent will host artisan demonstrators and a handmade shop featuring one of a kind gifts.
To make your holiday experience in Bethlehem even cozier, we’re adding gas fire pit areas near the pottery site to give visitors a warm spot to gather and enjoy the atmosphere during the smithy’s open hours.
Holiday Wassail Party
Join us right after Bethlehem’s tree lighting for an open house featuring colonial trade demonstrations, apple cider, and samples of Moravian sugar cake. It’s a relaxed and festive way to kick off the holiday season.
